The Sanyo Betamaxes were a breed all their own! They were sold at rock-bottom prices, had fair to poor picture quality, and many of them threaded like the older VHS machines -- every time you hit STOP, the tape unthreaded! They also have very low resale value in today's Beta market.  Some of the units had problems with threading and eating tapes.  And, many of them did not offer playback effects such as BetaScan or slo-mo in BII, only in BIII, which almost forced you to use the slower speed.  And, NO Sanyo Beta recorded or played back the original BI speed.
